My work is concerned with Landscape and how it is represented and relevant in a 21st century context. These artefacts can be liken to a painterly canvas which explore colour, light, movement, space, time frames and sound using video projection as the main dissemination device within a gallery environment. The main subject of my work has been to find meaning in the natural environment (predominantly the sea), using repeating waves to create a formal motif, which invokes memory, conflict and representation. These mini events only last 2 or 3 seconds before they are repeated. These compositions immerse the viewer in a pictorial landscape, radiant and impressionistic developing rhythmical patterns in sound and image, colliding together flows and colour to create optical effects of time and space.
